I thought the Park Inn was just a bar with an interesting story or two attached to it, but I found out something different. This is a largely ignored piece of local history. The Park Inn might not only be the oldest restaurant in Spokane, but also the oldest in Eastern Washington. It is to Spokane what Hudson's Hamburgers is to Coeur d'Alene. [read more]
View ProfileIsaac Houger’s passion for cooking started at a very young age, growing up on a small wheat and cattle farm. Isaac’s mother was a big inspiration in his evolution as a cook. The two spent many hours together in the kitchen experimenting with flavors and ingredients to create a multitude of their own recipes that Isaac still uses to this day. The experiences and knowledge gained from their time together led to Spokane’s food scene, where he would learn and share ideas from and with many local chefs and cooks. Isaac’s inspiration for opening a pizzeria came about during a high school trip to New York City. The simplicity and fast-paced world of pizza he observed during that trip sparked the idea for his latest venture: Providing the Inland Northwest with a delicious, New York inspired pizza. He’s finally achieved his dream, years later, teaming up with Black Label Brewing Company to open his first business… Peace Pie Pizzeria! Peace Pie strives to provide Spokane with a new approach to the tradition… “Classics made with quality” [read more]
View ProfileIt all started with an idea. Isn't that how it always goes? Bryan and Alyssa had moved back from Portland to their hometown of Spokane and were missing waffles. For what seemed like an eternity but was actually only a few years, the idea simply percolated. Until one day, in the midst of one of the craziest years yet, these two decided it was time to birth that idea. There's lots of family love poured into these waffles. The recipe has been handed down from Alyssa's Great Grandmother, fondly referred to by all as GeGe. And then came the food truck. We served Spokane in the midst of the pandemic and were SO blessed to do so. The dream just kept growing. In April 2021, People's Waffle opened the doors of its first café in the heart of downtown. Luckily, we have three eager and rambunctious future Wafflers happy to test any waffle and ready to start serving as soon as they're legally allowed ( and Mom says it's ok). We also have an incredible team ready to serve you delicious, gluten-free waffles with the freshest local ingredients we can find. We hope you'll join us for breakfast or brunch or lunch or any time that a waffle sounds good. Which is pretty much all the time, right? [read more]

View ProfileWe serve authentic Ethiopian cuisine in the traditional Ethiopian style of communal eating. Meals are shared off of a common platter without the use of utensils. Injera, a soft spongy like flat bread made from a grain called Teff is used similar to a tortilla or pita bread to wrap the food in. The Injera replaces the use of utensils and is available in a gluten-free option. Indivual plates and utensils are also available though. We serve authentic Ethiopain coffee that we roast inhouse along with our popular Ethiopian spiced tea (served hot or iced). We also serve vegetarian and vegan dishes. We pride ourselves on excellent service and hospitality. Queen of Sheba Ethiopian Cuisine is an extension of our home. As such, you are treated like our guests. Expect warm, hospitable service when you come in to dine with us. One symbol of our hospitality is the Ethiopian coffee ceremony, an important component of our culture. This lengthy ceremony includes slowly sipping three cups of coffee. The third is considered to bestow a blessing. The coffee ceremony is a strong mark of friendship and respect. [read more]
