View ProfileWe are 100% local. Senor Froggy was originated right here in Spokane in 1979 by Dave Hooke. Our first store was at 1918 N. Division and that store is still cranking out food today. Dave built up to 6 restaurants and in 2000 started selling them to long time managers. Not having much money, Dave and Lisa built furniture, cabinets, did the tile work and long spent hours building the stores. Dave and Lisa Hooke still own the Senor Froggy at 3024 S. Regal. We have always used local suppliers. Dave developed all of our recipes and there has been only 2 changes since the beginning. Dave still develops new recipes and watches the quality of our food very closely. This year Dave will celebrate 50 years in the Mexican food business. Most of the décor in our store was and hand carried from different parts Mexico by Dave and Lisa. In many cases we bought it from the artists and craftsmen who made it. We started selling Italian Food in 2002 in response to "hard times" in the industry. It boosted our sales by 25% and put us back in the black. All 3 of our Italian sauces are made from scratch daily. If you haven't tried our Italian Express menu, you should! All of our sauces are gluten free. We offer gluten free spaghetti also. We also make Lasagna from scratch almost daily. We cook taco meat, refried beans, black beans and 2 kinds of rice everyday. Some things like the taco meat and alfredo are made fresh several times each day. We also cook taco shells and corn tortilla chips everyday. We have always been health conscious and are currently working on a complete nutrition breakdown for all of our menu items. We take great pride in the cleanliness of our store. Dave was once told by a delivery driver that there was only one other restaurant in town that was as clean as ours! [read more]

View ProfileMy family’s recipe originated with my mother Candelaria, who taught herself the craft and gave them to my older brothers to sell from their bicycles in the streets of Mexico. More than forty years later, we’re keeping the tradition alive here in the Pacific Northwest. As a first generation Mexican-American, I’m proud to take this piece of our family and share it with yours. Our tamales are naturally gluten free. Every batch is made with fresh produce delivered weekly and our custom blend of masas (corn flour). Meticulously hand-sorted hojas (corn husks) ensure that we are crafting the biggest tamales that you can find. No gluten, no lard, no better tamales. [read more]
